Transparency first

Mistakes are part of journalism. We believe the only acceptable response to a mistake is to correct the record openly, promptly, and visibly.

How to report an error

Email editorial@thesportsrise.com with the article URL, the specific text that is wrong, and — ideally — a source for the correct information. You can also use the "Report an error" button at the foot of every article. We aim to respond within 24 hours.

Types of correction

  • Typo / formatting — fixed silently without a note.
  • Factual correction — the article is updated, a Correction note is appended explaining what was fixed and when, and the Last updated stamp is refreshed.
  • Significant update — a new paragraph or section is added to reflect new information; the update is noted at the top of the article.
  • Retraction — an article is fully withdrawn because its central claim was wrong. The URL remains live with a clear retraction notice explaining what was incorrect and why.

What a correction note looks like

Correction · April 17, 2026: An earlier version of this article said that Miguel Torres won the 2023 final. He finished second. We have corrected the result throughout and regret the error.

Timing

Confirmed corrections are published within 24 hours of verification, or immediately for breaking-news errors that could mislead readers.

Archive

An auditable list of every substantive correction is available at /corrections-archive. Retractions remain on that page permanently.
