Lesson 2: The Playing Area and Equipment

Before you play, it helps to understand the setup. **The Table:** The Teqball table is **3 metres long and 1.5 metres wide** (about 9.84 ft x 4.92 ft). It is divided into two halves by a small net. The table has a **curved surface**, which keeps the ball in play and prevents flat, predictable exchanges — making rallies more skilful and dynamic. **The Ball:** A standard **size 5 football** is the official, recommended ball. This is the same size used in regular football matches. **The Surrounding Area:** For official competition, the space around the table must be at least: - **~12 metres wide** - **~16 metres long** - **~7 metres high** This gives players room to move and reach the ball safely. As a beginner, even a casual setup can work — but understanding the official dimensions helps you know what a proper match environment looks like.
