Lesson 5: Basic Strategy and Beginner Tips

Now that you know the rules, here are some practical tips to help you start playing well.

Control Before Power:

  • Focus on clean, accurate returns before trying hard shots. Consistency wins more points than power at the beginner level.

Use All Three Touches Wisely:

  • You have up to three touches — use them to set yourself up for a better return, especially in doubles where a pass is required.

Mix Up Your Body Parts:

  • Remember you cannot use the same body part twice in a row. Practice using your head, chest, thigh, and foot so you are comfortable switching.

Be Smart With Smashes:

  • You only get two smashes per set that go out of play. Do not waste them early — save big shots for important moments.

Serving Strategy:

  • Use your first serve freely, but remember your second serve cannot use your feet. Practice chest and thigh serves so you always have a reliable backup.

Stay Off the Table:

  • Never touch the table during a rally — it gives your opponent a free point.

Most importantly, enjoy the game! Teqball rewards creativity, footwork, and smart thinking.
