Our commitment
The Sports Rise aims to conform to WCAG 2.2 Level AA (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines). Accessibility is an ongoing process — we audit, test, and improve the site continuously with real users, including users of screen readers and other assistive technology.
What we have done
- Semantic HTML5 landmarks (
header, main, nav, footer). - Keyboard-navigable throughout; visible focus ring on every interactive element.
- Skip-to-content link on every page.
- Text alternatives on meaningful images; decorative images marked
aria-hidden. - Text contrast ratios meet or exceed 4.5:1 (normal text) and 3:1 (large text) in both light and dark mode.
- Respect for user preferences: reduced motion, dark mode, system font size, high-contrast mode.
- Captions on editorial video; transcripts on the longest podcast episodes.
- Form labels, error messages, and
aria-liveregions for real-time feedback.
Known limitations
- Some legacy embeds (third-party video players, social embeds) may fall short of WCAG. We progressively replace them with accessible alternatives.
- Live-score tickers update rapidly. We expose a "Pause updates" control so screen-reader users can read the latest state.
Testing
We audit the site with automated tooling (axe-core, Lighthouse, Pa11y) on every deploy, and commission independent expert audits annually.
